SIMONCELLI WINS IT! Barbera comes in second, followed by Bautista! Kallio, Simon, Pasini complete the top six!
1' Simoncelli starts the final lap with Barbera pushing hard... he's three seconds ahead - surely that's too much to make up in one lap...
3' Simoncelli's lead is down to five seconds... but he's got this one in the bag... only the rain can be his undoing now.
4'
Bautista goes past Simon and into a podium place! Fantastic stuff! It really is wet out there... spray everywhere!
5'
Kallio loses another place... he's in sixth as Pasini passes him.
5' Kallio loses places in the chasing pack... he's down into fifth now... Barbera still in second, Simon in third and Bautista in fourth.
6' Irish rider Eugene Laverty is in 11th place!
7' Simoncelli leads by 7.308 seconds... and Barbera up into second! It's tight back there.
9' The battle is on for second! And there's five riders all fighting for it!
10'
Pesek off into the gravel! And his race is over. That's both Czechs out of the running now.
11' Behind Simoncelli, it's Kallio, Barbera, Simon, Pasini, Bautista, Luthi and then.... Aoyama! Incredible! The Japanese rider, despite his kanckered bike, is still in the race and doing well!
12' This doesn't bode well for the chasing pack... Simoncelli is over seven seconds in the lead and has just done his fastest lap.
12' Aoyama's bike has got a piece of bodywork flapping in the wind... but somehow he manages to tuck it in as he gets going once again!
13'
The damp conditions have turned into very wet conditions... and Aoyama GOES OFF! He's on the gravel, but he manages to get back on and away again!
14' Bautista puts in a quick lap of 1:33.3 and it won't be too long before he catches Pasini.
15' Bautista nearly two seconds behind Pasini... Simoncelli still leading by a country mile.
16' Pasini is closing on fifth place as the race nears its halfway stage.
17'
Aoyama clocks the fastest lap as the rain pours down.... this doesn't bode well for the MotoGP race later.
18' Look at this! Simoncelli has opened up a huge 7.238 second gap between himself and second-placed Kallio. Barbera and then Simon are next.
20'
Kallio goes through past Barbera and into second! But he's still six seconds behind the leader Simoncelli... this is a great ride from the Gilera man.
22' Barbera in second, but 5.5 seconds behind the leader... already it's looking like a battle for second as Simon, Kallio and then Pasini all close in.
23' The track is looking really wet out there... but Simoncelli isn't letting it affect him - he still leads. It's raining hard now and there is no dry lines at all on the track.
25'
Debon can't continue with all those stones coming out of his bike though... and there he goes into the garages...
27' Debon goes off! He just skidded off the track, although he's back up and running!
28' Simoncelli bursts into the lead! The pole man has regained his superiority!
28' The riders are tense out there! And that's all to do with the wet conditions...
28' Barbera in third, then Kallio, then Debon!
29'
Simoncelli drops from pole to fourth as Simon takes the lead early on!
29'
They're off!
- The 250s are up next... and the skies are still leaden over the track. Should make for an interesting race...
