Paul Jewell wants strike pair Jason Roberts and Nathan Ellington to lead Derby's promotion charge in the Championship next season. Both Roberts and Ellington formed a prolific partnership under Jewell when all three were at Wigan.
Former West Brom hitman Roberts, 30, was at The JJB between January 2004 and July 2006, scoring 37 goals in 93 league appearances - and was sold to Blackburn for £3million.
Ellington, meanwhile, played for Latics from 2002 until August 2005, scoring 59 goals in 130 league run-outs.
He moved to The Hawthorns for £3million, and was flogged to Watford for £3.25million last summer.
The 26-year-old has struggled to rediscover his top form, though, and only managed four goals in 18 starts for the Hornets last season.
Jewell is ready to offload Robert Earnshaw at Pride Park, and wants a brand new forward line after seeing the Rams score just 20 goals in 38 Premier League games last season.
