Harry Redknapp has poured scorn on claims that he will quit football after leading out Portsmouth at Wembley in the FA Cup final this weekend.
Press reports had suggested Redknapp, 61, was on the verge of leaving the sport after a police corruption probe into his affairs, including a dawn raid last November when wife Sandra was alone in the family home.
However, after club chief executive Peter Storrie described the stories as "a load of rubbish", Redknapp himself has also moved to quell the speculation.
"I don't know where all this stuff comes from," the manager told The Sun. "I'm going nowhere apart from Wembley and then off on a holiday with my wife Sandra to recharge the batteries.
"The mobile will be coming along because there are a few players I need to get in; then I'll be back refreshed for the challenge of a new season with Pompey."
Redknapp has changed the fortunes of Portsmouth in two stints as manager, first leading them into the Premier League and keeping them there before returning after a spell at south coast arch rivals Southampton to transform them into challengers for European positions.
And now he has taken Pompey to a first FA Cup final since 1939, where they will face Cardiff City on Saturday.
However, last November things looked grim as the Premier League enquiry into corruption spilled over into police action at the Redknapp family home.
"Yes, it's been a long-hard 10 months or so for a variety of reasons everyone knows about," he added.
"I'll never forget it, or get over it. It was a disgrace. It scared Sandra to death because she's not exactly used to having the Old Bill round the house.
"It made a right mess of her, she was having panic attacks; it really did her in. She still hasn't recovered.
"But to suggest I'm about to pack it in is rubbish."
Redknapp has also managed Bournemouth and West Ham. He was offered the then-vacant position at Newcastle when Sam Allardyce was sacked, but opted to remain at Portsmouth.
