All the player reaction at the midway point of the 108th US Open at Torrey Pines.
Stuart Appleby (-3): "To hole a putt that length was nice. That was three-putt range and it was very sweet for me. You need to be running on all cylinders to do well hereIt becomes a physical test now over the weeked. I just need to keep doing what I"m doing. Driving is everything."
Tiger Woods (-2): "Today I was just trying to get back to even par, to be honest with you. That's all I was trying to do. And I just happened to make a couple more putts. I didn't really hit it close. I just made about some 15, 20-footers and got on a roll that way. They started flying in from everywhere. I shot 30 on my back nine in a US Open, that's not too bad. I'm in great shape so far. I'm right there."
Robert Karlsson (-2): "I don't look at leaderboards. You know when you're playing well. I've put together two good scores and at the halfway stage I'm good. It doesn't scare me to see my name up there on the board. I hope for more of the same."
Lee Westwood (-1): "All in all 71 was pretty good. It could have been 68, 69I always feel fairly comfortable here. I'm quite happy to keep going out there to grind out pars."
Davis Love III (-1): "I wish there had been a two-round qualifier for The Masters, because I think I could have got through that one too. I look forward to getting better and getting my confidence back. Regaining your confidence is a hard thing to do. I didn't have it before I got sick, and then I got hurt. It was double hard for me to come back."
D.J. Trahan (-1): "I putted very well today, and I hit the ball a little bit better. And this course is only going to get tougher as the week goes on, and it actually was very tough this morning obviously again. I made some really good putts today. Nice par saves from five and six feet, and when you can get the putter going to make those, it certainly keeps a lot of momentum going for a good round."
Luke Donald (Even): "The greens were putting a little nicer than they were yesterday afternoon. Anytime you come to a Major and you have some familiarisation with the golf course, you can feed on that, and I did that todayFour of five under is going to be a very good score. If you can post that, you've got a really good chance."
Ernie Els (Even): "I'm still in it. I'm even par after two rounds. Some of the key holes where you're thinking of birdies, I made some bogeys - so all in all I'm happy with even par. I'm 85 per cent there now with my swing, so I can really look forward to the weekend. You really have to have your game, your thinking ability and your patience to win the US Open. It's basically the last man standing on Sunday."
Geoff Ogilvy (Even): "We probably had an opportunity to get a few birdies today, but even par after 36 holes is a good place to be - especially in this tournament. This course is the most enjoyable US Open set up I've played. Gone is the absolute nightmare of hitting a shot and knowing you're dead. The end is not quite the end."
Padraig Harrington (+3): "It was very difficult yesterday. I was missing putts and every time I missed a shot I was making bogeys. Today I holed the putts I was missing, and when you're doing that it makes it so much easier to hit your shots into the green. I hit some nice shots, but my bad ones weren't too bad. 67 is a nice return. Another two of those at the weekend should do nicely."
Sergio Garcia (+4): "I was much more aggressive. Even when I played to the safe sides, I played aggressively. I wasn't hoping where the ball was going, I was sure. I played very solidly; hit a lot of fairways, a lot of greens. Unfortunately I didn't make as many putts as I'd like. I'm two under for the last 29 holes and that's always good."
