Manchester United target Daniel Alves has said he could leave Sevilla this summer.

The Brazilian is among the most highly-rated young defenders in Europe, and United have identified him as a possible long-term successor to Gary Neville at right-back.

United were believed to be interested in Porto's Jose Bosingwa, but he signed for Chelsea on Monday, intensifying the Premier League champions' interest in Alves.

The 25-year-old will meet Sevilla president Jose Maria del Nido to discuss his future but admitted his six-year association with the Liga club could come to an end.

"I am attending a meeting with the president to resolve the subject, but perhaps my cycle has finished in Sevilla," Alves said.

Although Chelsea are out of the running for Alves, Barcelona are thought to have identified him as a major summer transfer target following their disastrous season.

United have also been linked with Sevilla striker Luis Fabiano, but the Spanish club said they had not received any firm proposals for either player.

"Sevilla is open to study offers for our players including Luis Fabiano and Daniel Alves, but only if they meet our asking price," a spokesman said.

"Still we have not received any offer and now is the normal time for rumours."

Alves has been given a two-match ban for the red card he received in the city derby against Real Betis last weekend.

He will miss the visit of Athletic Bilbao on Sunday and the first game of next season, if he is still at the club.
