Striker wants Magpies improvement

Wed 14 May, 07:00 PM

Spencer Weir-Daley has urged Notts County to use their narrow escape from relegation this term as an "inspiration" for success next season. The Magpies avoided relegation with a game to spare after a run of four games that saw them lose only once and the striker feels they have to keep up that momentum next season.

He said: "Obviously everyone was on a high after avoiding relegation, so we have to draw some inspiration from those moments of joy and build on them for next season.

"As a team the season has been something of a disappointment. We promised a fair bit at the start and we didn't deliver.

"I think there will be a lot of changes this summer. We don't want to be fighting relegation again."
