Sven-Göran Eriksson has refused to be drawn on his future at Manchester City, despite increasing speculation suggesting owner Thaksin Shinawatra will replace the club's manager in the summer.

"You'll have to wait until the end of the season to see what will happen, I don't want to comment on it at this point," he said.

"Nobody tells me what to do, I am too old to be given orders. I also decide whether to talk about the situation or not, I can make my own decisions."

Eriksson's team lost 1-0 at Liverpool on Sunday, but the Swede was treated to a glowing endorsement from City fans who sang his name and displayed banners opposing his mooted departure.

"The fans' support is amazing, I am so grateful, it even gives me goose bumps," he said.

"All I can say is that I think that we've done a great job, losing against a team as good as Liverpool is not the end of the world, at least the players showed they haven't gone on holiday yet.

"We will probably end up ninth in the table, which is more than acceptable. I am satisfied."
