The Cleveland Browns rewarded general manager Phil Savage with a three-year contract extension after the NFL team improved from 4-12 to 10-6 last season.

The team assembled by Savage put six players in the Pro Bowl last season and the AFC club has aimed for stability by previously extending the contracts of head coach Romeo Crennel and his offensive and defensive coordinators.

"We have worked very hard to turn the Browns around, on and off the field, and our team is looking forward to the 2008 season," Savage said in a statement issued by the Browns.

Savage, who took over as Browns GM in 2005 after nine seasons with the Baltimore Ravens, is signed through the 2012 season.
