Paris St Germain have hit back at wantaway midfielder Didier Digard's comments that the club are holding up his proposed move to Middlesbrough.
The two clubs agreed a a fee of 5million euros for the 21-year-old, who has only been at PSG for one season, but the transfer has still not been completed and Digard has placed the blame at the door of the Ligue 1 club.
However, PSG have denied any claim that they are the reason for the hold up, insisting the problem lies with Middlesbrough.
"Twelve days after an agreement in principle between PSG and Middlesbrough for the transfer of Didier Digard, the club's directors are still waiting for bank guarantees from the English club," read a statement on PSG's website.
"After two hours of discussion an agreement was come to. A rate of instalments for the payment of the transfer was also decided upon.
"Part of the details of the agreement on the part of the English club was to provide PSG with bank guarantees.
"Up until now these guarantees have not been presented. Nevertheless, negotiations continue in a climate of reciprocal confidence.
"In conclusion, the declarations by the PSG player Didier Digard are false.
"Especially as the player has wished to leave PSG since December 2007."
Digard blasted PSG on Monday, claiming that the move had stumbled over the French club's insistence that they received the whole five million at once rather than in two instalments.
Despite the hitch, Boro are still hoping to conclude the deal for the former Le Havre player before coach Gareth Southgate and his squad return for pre-season training next Monday.
